Enschede can rightfully call itself the urban heart of the eastern Netherlands. On this tour, you go on an exploratory excursion through Enschede, where you will discover traces of the city's rich textile past everywhere. Admire the stately manors of the city centre, historic factories of the old city districts and exquisite villas along the canals. The tour also takes you past Roombeek, which was completely destroyed in May 2000 during a fireworks explosion. Roombeek was rebuilt in 2008 into a true twenty-first century neighbourhood, with 62 hectares of residences, businesses, educational institutions, food service establishments and culture. The tour ends in the middle of the Oude Markt square.
